KENORA – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the deceased in a fire in the Lakeside area of Kenora.
OPP and Kenora Fire Department were called just after 11:30 a.m on February 6, 2017 to a residence on First Avenue South.
When police and fire arrived, the building was completely engulfed in flames. Fire fighters located a single body within the home.
The deceased has been identified as the resident of the home, 85 year old Walter BOROWSKI.
The scene has been released and is under the investigation of the Ontario Fire Marshall with the assistance of the Northwest Region Crime Unit and the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit.
