Police release new information on missing Kacey Yellowhead

Thunder Bay police have released a new image and further information about the whereabouts of missing person Kacey Yellowhead on Aug. 2, when he was last seen.

THUNDER BAY -- Police have confirmed a further sighting of missing person Kacey Yellowhead on Aug. 2, the night he was last confirmed to have been seen.

Efforts by police and family to locate Yellowhead, 25, continue two weeks later.

Information released by the Thunder Bay Police Service on Tuesday puts Yellowhead in the Minnesota Street area around 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 2, about 12 minutes later than footage had previously established his location.

Security footage obtained by police showed Yellowhead, originally from Eabametoong First Nation, walking south in the 800s block of Minnesota Street, across from the Art Widnall Pool. He appeared to be walking toward Pacific Avenue, police said.

Police shared a screen capture from that footage in a release Tuesday.

The TBPS reiterated its request for anyone in the surrounding area to check their properties, yards, sheds, abandoned or parked vehicles, and alleyways for signs of a missing person.

Anyone with residential or business security surveillance is urged to review footage from that time and contact police with any relevant information.

Yellowhead is described as an Indigenous male standing about 5’6” tall with a thin build, a medium complexion, shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes and a red mark on his right cheek.

His clothing descriptors remain unchanged since the previous confirmed sighting. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie with white draw strings, charcoal grey shorts, and white socks.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to call police at (807) 684-1200 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
