THUNDER BAY — Police officers intervened to prevent a potential tragedy in Thunder Bay on the weekend by reversing a suspected drug overdose.
According to the Thunder Bay Police Service, officers were flagged down for assistance in the May Street and Victoria Avenue area on Saturday.
The officers located an unconscious male in medical distress.
After they administered multiple doses of naloxone, the man regained consciousness and resumed normal breathing.
He was taken to hospital where he reportedly made a full recovery.
TBPS said it continues to advise residents of the dangers of narcotics purchased on the street, as these often contain unknown substances in unknown quantities.
