Police are looking for a man suspected of a parking lot purse snatching that took place near the intercity area.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say a man pushed a woman from behind in the parking lot of the McIntyre Centre Tuesday and ripped the purse from her arms before running off.

Uniformed city police officers, along with the police service’s K9 unit, searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.

Witnesses describe the suspect as an Aboriginal man in his 20s, standing five-feet-three- to five-feet-five-inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.

The suspect wore dark pants and a dark jacket at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about this purse snatching is asked to contact city police or the Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers.
