Police seek break and enter suspect

The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance as officers continue to investigate a recent break-and-enter to a residence.

Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were originally dispatched to reports of a break-and-enter that had just occurred at a home in the 300-block of Court Street North shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Officers learned a woman victim had just returned home to find a male who was unknown to her inside her residence. The male appeared to be in the process of stealing items from her home.

She confronted the suspect, who then fled on foot with some of the woman’s belongings.

The victim attempted to follow the suspect, but the male threatened her if she continued. The accused was last seen fleeing on foot through a nearby laneway.

The accused is described as an Indigenous male standing about 5’7” tall with a very thin build. He is believed to be in his 20s or 30s with black spiky hair. His right eye appeared to be bloodshot. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with black pants and was carrying a Lululemon duffle bag.

This incident is now being investigated by the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Branch.
