Police seek driver involved in collision with pedestrian

One person was injured in a collision Saturday with a vehicle whose driver failed to remain at the scene.

THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police are trying to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Cornwall Avenue and Machar Avenue.

A male pedestrian was found injured at the scene, but the vehicle was not there when police arrived to investigate.

The injured person was taken to hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Police have released a photo of a white 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV which they describe as a vehicle of interest.

It may have damage to the front right side and to the hood.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call TBPS at 807-684-1200, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
