Video: Police seek hatchet-wielding robbery suspect

West Arthur Street Mac's Convenience store hit early Sunday morning.

THUNDER BAY – City police are turning to the public to help identify a suspect accused of robbing a Thunder Bay Mac’s Convenience Store on West Arthur Street.

Police say the masked male suspect entered the store on Sunday at approximately 3:30 a.m., armed with a hatchet. He demanded money and cigarettes from the male clerk and fled on foot westbound on Arthur Street.

Officers arrived shortly afterward and searched the immediate area, but the suspect was not found. However, police did find what they believed to be the weapon used in the incident.

The suspect is described as standing about 5-foot-7 with a thin build. He was wearing a two-toned red striped hoodie and black pants.

His face was covered with a white and black mask.
