THUNDER BAY — Four people from southern Ontario were arrested after a north-side Thunder Bay motel room was raided, leading to cocaine and crystal methamphetamine being seized.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers executed a search warrant at a Powley Street motel on Tuesday morning, with the warrant a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity.

Police said the four suspects, who were all taken into custody without incident, appeared to be in Thunder Bay for the sole purpose of drug trafficking. Along with the quantities of suspected drugs, police also seized paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking, cash, and a fake driver's licence.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be more than $280,000, police said.

Two Toronto men — Denzil Domfeh, 28, and Shomari Dover, 22, — along with Ricardo Raffington, a 40-year-old from Whitby, and 18-year-old Shaddai Meshack Wilson, from Maxwell, were arrested.

They each face two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, along with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Domfeh is also charged with failure to comply with a release order, while Wilson is charged with possession of an identity document.

The four all appeared in court on Wednesday and remain in custody.
