Police seize drugs, handgun, and cash in Secord Street bust

Four people, including two from Toronto and two from Thunder Bay, are facing numerous drug and gun related charges.

THUNDER BAY - Police have charged four people with drug and weapon related offences following a search of a north side apartment.

According to Thunder Bay Police Service media release, officers, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, executed a search warrant at a Secord Street apartment on Tuesday just after 4:30 p.m.

Officers seized a loaded handgun, 20 grams of a substance believed to be Fentanyl, 14 grams of a substance believed to be crack cocaine, six grams of cocaine, and more than $11,000 in cash.

Police arrested 23-year-old Juquan Goulbourne and 36-year-old Orane Warwyk West of Toronto, as well as 41-year-old Newton Dominique Mamakeesic and 19-year-old Donna Chantel Wabasse of Thunder Bay.

Police said Goulbourne and West are known members of a Toronto-area gang.

The four are all charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, careless storage of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.

All four accused appeared in court on Wednesday and have been remanded into custody.
