Police arrested two men after searching two Thunder Bay homes Tuesday.

Officials with the combined force’s drug enforcement unit and guns and gangs unit arrested the two men after searching a home in the 600 block of Strand Avenue and another home in the 400 block of Piccadilly Street.

The search warrants followed an investigation into two local men who were suspected cocaine traffickers.

Police say a 35-year-old male suspect was arrested while in a vehicle on Strand Avenue. He was with three other people at the time.

Police say they found a loaded .22 calibre handgun in the vehicle the suspect was in.

A search of the Strand Avenue home resulted in the seizure of about 30 grams of cocaine, 37 grams of marijuana, 520 methamphetamine pills and about $19,000 in Canadian cash.

Police believe the street value of the drugs seized is about $5,340.
