Police send out Halloween safety reminders

Sunday is the night the ghosts and goblins awaken around Thunder Bay, and city police want to remind trick-or-treaters to use caution when going door-to-door.
Sunday is the night the ghosts and goblins awaken around Thunder Bay, and city police want to remind trick-or-treaters to use caution when going door-to-door.

First and foremost they want to remind Halloween drivers to keep a close eye out for pedestrians, the littlest of whom often dart out into the street with no warning.

For parents and children they offer these safety tips:

·         Small children should never go out alone
·         Costumes should not impair a child’s vision
·         Visit houses you know
·         Check over your child’s treats before they eat them
·         Travel in a supervised group
·         Use caution when crossing the street
