Police are still looking for the driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle that collided with a car early Sunday morning, killing a 60-year-old woman.

Josceline Ryan, of Thunder Bay, died of her injuries at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Sunday. Her 68-year-old husband, who was driving their vehicle, is still in the hospital being treated for serious injuries he sustained during the crash.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say the woman and her husband were driving down Victoria Avenue Sunday around 6:30 a.m. when an allegedly stolen black 2004 Chevy Colorado pickup truck drove through the stop sign on Leland Avenue and struck the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

A witness report states the driver of the truck was male and he fled on foot.

“Investigators are proceeding based on that,” said police spokesman Chris Adams Monday afternoon.

“They are also reviewing forensic evidence that was present in the stolen vehicle and also just doing more follow-up on the collision investigation itself.”

Police are asking any witnesses and the driver of the truck to come forward.

“The driver of that vehicle is aware of what happened, that he had a collision with that vehicle and by now he’s aware obviously we have a deceased in that fatality,” said Adams.

“We’re asking that person to do the right thing, step forward and come to police.”
