THUNDER BAY -- City police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles overnight.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials have received a number of reports over the past few days of vehicle windows being smashed and items stolen.

Most incidents occurred overnight on the city’s north side.

Police want to remind citizens to make sure they do not leave valuable items in their vehicle.

Thefts from vehicles are crimes of opportunity and taking steps to ensure your vehicle is not targeted is an important part of crime prevention.
