POPLAR HILL FIRST NATION, Ont. — Members of Poplar Hill First Nation are mourning the death of their Chief.
Jacob Strang passed away Saturday night.
He was serving his second term as leader of the community of 475, located 550 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
Nishnawbe Aski Nation Deputy Grand Chief Derek Fox posted a social media message describing Strang as a kind and gentle man, and a leader who will be missed.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
