It has been another big month for the Port of Thunder Bay.
Cargo shipments were up 25 per cent throughout November. And the month also saw several records set for the local port.
It was the first time since May 2009 that more than 1-million tonnes of cargo moved through the port in a single month.
Port Authority CEO Tim Heney said that while the harbour facilities are fully capable of moving that amount, it is rare for it to actually happen.
Heney added that the numbers were boosted by high shipments of grain.
But he admits that it is hard to predict whether the grain trend will continue, because it depends on the harvest and the weather.
The port has also been busy with project cargo, including wind turbines destined for Alberta.
Those shipments continued in November, and have been keeping dock workers busy throughout the year.
