Officials with Porter Airlines announced Friday that they will be expanding flight services between Thunder Bay and Toronto.
Officials with Porter Airlines announced Friday that they will be expanding flight services between Thunder Bay and Toronto.

The new schedule will begin on May 25 and will see Porter Airlines offer five daily round trips, instead of the three it offers now, between the Thunder Bay International Airport and the Toronto island airport.

Porter had its inaugural local flight back in June of 2009. The airline was offering three daily roundtrips during the week between Thunder Bay and Toronto, and two roundtrips on weekends.

The airline will also be offering four flights on Sundays, and two flights on Saturdays.

Porter CEO Robert Deluce says Thunder Bay has been a consistently popular route, and many of the flights are currently at full capacity.

Thunder Bay Airport CEO Scott McFadden says Porter has been a major contributor to growing airport numbers over the past year and a half, and says he welcomes new flight capacity from any of the airlines servicing Thunder Bay.
