A post-mortem examination of the victim of an August homicide investigation has been complete, and police have released the scene.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service were originally dispatched to an area in the 400 block of Main Street just after 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 after a passerby called 911 about a possible body in the area.

When police arrived they located the body of a deceased male, who has since been identified as Christopher David MEESEETAWAGESIC, 31, of Thunder Bay. Next of kin has been notified.

A post-mortem examination took place in Toronto on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Members of the TBPS’s Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding MEESEETAWAGESIC’s death.
