THUNDER BAY – City police say they are hoping for post-mortem results on the body recovered from McIntyre River sometime Wednesday.
Executive officer Chris Adams said officers are still waiting for the outcome of the post-mortem examination, which is taking place in Toronto.
“I would hope to see the results by Wednesday, but I cannot guarantee that,” Adams said.
The body of a man was recovered from the McIntyre River Friday morning.
Paramedics with the Superior North EMS and firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to an area near Carrick and Waterford Streets.
A dive team with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were able to retrieve the body from the water.
Few details are known about the man and the circumstances surrounding his body being found in the river.
The investigation is still ongoing.
