SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. — An early-morning power outage shut down electrical service throughout the Town of Sioux Lookout on Wednesday.

The outage lasted until mid-afternoon, and was blamed on an equipment failure inside a Hydro One substation.

After the outage occurred, Sioux Lookout Hydro posted a message saying it would attempt to restore power to the town in stages off another feeder line.

According to a post on the town's Facebook page,  municipal facilities, programs and services were closed until power was restored.

At about 3:00 p.m. EDT, Sioux Lookout Hydro said Hydro One had completed the necessary repairs.
