THUNDER BAY -- Within an hour, Thunder Bay Hydro restored power to a south side neighbourhood that went black around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Crews were working through the morning between Ridgeway Street and Victoria Avenue as well as Brodie Street to Syndicate Avenue.
The company shut down the energy flow due to voltage changes it perceived on the power line.
"We do not know what caused it," said Thunder Bay Hydro representative Eileen Dias.
"The power was taken out for safety because of signals from the control room. We're aware of an individual electrical issue with a building in athat area and it could have contributed to a concern we had."
