A preliminary inquiry has been set for a man accused of murder.
Jeffrey Charles Tomagatick, 29, was charged with second-degree murder and robbery in connection with the death of 50-year-old Murray Keesic in September 2012.
The accused was also charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000, breach of probation charges and assault with a weapon.
Tomagatick appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice Wednesday morning and a preliminary inquiry has been set for May 10, 13 and 15.
Tomagatick was arrested several hours after the Sept. 13 assault and alleged robbery of Keesic, who died overnight in the hospital.
The alleged incident took place near a laneway behind a residence in the 200 block of North Syndicate Avenue.
It was the city’s third homicide of 2012.
