While there's still snow on the ground and ice on the lake, a local winter attraction is closing and signalling the changing of the seasons.
The outdoor skating rink at Prince Arthur's Landing was closed for the season starting Thursday.
Although temperatures are below average, the sun is creating challenges for maintenance crews to keep the ice surface at a reasonable standard.
Though the rink will be closed, the Water Garden Pavillion will remain open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.
The Splash Pad is set to take over for the rink, and is set to open in early June.
