OPP officials say a group of prisoners being transferred from Thunder Bay by the provincial bailiffs service made a brief stop in Schreiber Tuesday morning. As the prisoners were being escorted back to their vehicle, one man made a run for it and managed to elude his police escorts.

Police say bailiff and OPP officers located the man about a half-hour later.

In addition to charges he was already facing, the 29-year-old Chatham man now faces charges of escaping lawful custody and resisting arrest.
