The Ontario government is getting serious about recycling and reducing waste in the workplace.
Ten new inspectors have been hired to audit larger workplaces around the province to make sure they are green and clean.
The Thunder Bay Zero Waste Action Team is partnering with the Ministry of Environment and other groups to host an information session next month on workplace reducing, re-using and recycling. The workshop is aimed at industrial, commercial and institutional workplaces.
Guest speakers will demonstrate ways to reduce waste and will encourage businesses to abide by the regulations set out by the province. Organizer Janice Horgos said it's best to put recycling processes in now before they get audited by the inspectors and fined for not being environmentally friendly.
Participants must register for the workshop by March 15.
