The deadline in a competitive process that the Province says will spur investment and create jobs in the forest sector has been pushed back.
Last November the Minister of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry Michael Gravelle announced the competition for 11-million cubic metres of wood in Ontario.
The process was expected to wrap up next Thursday, but has now been extended until March 31.
The ministry says many of the groups involved in the process have asked for extra time.
A spokesperson for the minister says decisions on successful applicants should still come within the next six months.
