Public deputations to be heard at tonight’s budget meeting

Tuesday is the first opportunity for the public to have its say on the proposed budget. Currently the budget contains a 1.6 per cent tax increase and a 14 per cent hike in water rates. So far, only three public deputations have been scheduled.

Currently the budget contains a 1.6 per cent tax increase and a 14 per cent hike in water rates. So far, only three public deputations have been scheduled.

Council will hear from the Children's Aid Society, the Thunder Bay Community Foundation and recent Neebing Ward candidate, Henry Wojak.

Any member of the public can show up and be heard without prior notification.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.
