THUNDER BAY — In the anticipation that normal cross-country travel will resume at some point, a Canadian travel website has come out with a list of the 20 best places to visit post-pandemic.

Northwestern Ontario makes the Vacay.ca list with the nomination of Pukaskwa National Park near Marathon.

Northern Ontario's only national park is in the 20th spot, but the authors say all the destinations they chose are outstanding places to visit.

They describe Pukaskwa as "a dream destination for nature lovers" and "a thriving natural wonder" that preserves the wildest and most scenic stretches of the Lake Superior shoreline, including rocky headlands, golden sand beaches, ancient granite bedrock and "stunning vistas at every turn."

Other highlights mentioned in the article include Hattie Cove and the White River Suspension Bridge over Chigamiwinigum Falls.
