HERON BAY, ON — Northwestern Ontario's only national park has officially opened for the 2019 season.

Parks Canada says this will be the first full season for Pukaskwa National Park's new oTENTik roofed accommodations in the Hattie Cove campground.

First introduced last summer, they offer what Parks Canada describes as a unique blend of homey comfort and a taste of outdoor adventure.

A cross between a tent and a rustic cabin, each of the five units includes three beds and can accommodate up to six people.

Bookings for an oTENTik or for backcountry campsites in Pukaskwa may be made through the Parks Canada Reservation Service website.

Pukaskwa this season will once again offer interpretive programming, school programs and special events such as the July 9 and 10 BioBlitz which will highlight the variety of local species.
