THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada has issued a bleak forecast this week for winter sports enthusiasts.  It predicts the month of November will finish in the same fashion that weather conditions have prevailed most of the month in Thunder Bay — considerably milder than normal.

The typical high temperature for this time of year is minus three degrees Celsius,  while the average overnight low is -12 C.

From today through Friday, however, the daily maximum in Thunder Bay is forecast to be between eight and five degrees warmer than usual.  Over the same period, the daily minimum will range between 15 and 10 degrees higher than normal.

Between Monday and Sunday there is a possibility of precipitation each day in the form of rain, rain showers or flurries.

From 25 to 40 millimetres of rain could fall on the city Monday night into Tuesday, further eroding the snow that's accumulated on the ground.
