TORONTO – Jordan Larson gave the Lakehead Thunderwolves a chance.

But the Ryerson Rams weren’t about to let their first-round opponent force a do-or-die Game 3 in their opening round OUA West quarterfinal playoff series.

Larson sent the game to overtime, scoring with 4:32 to go in regulation, but Devon Palani scored 9:12 into the extra frame, beating a diving Brock Aiken for the best-of-three series-clinching goal that sent the Rams into the second round.

Ryerson swept the series 2-0.

Steven Harland had the game’s only other goal, scoring 17 seconds into the second period.

The Wolves haven’t advanced to the second round of the OUA playoffs since 2015, when they lost to Windsor in the OUA West semifinal.
