THUNDER BAY - A woman facing several child pornography charges remains in custody.
Ashley Dawn Raymer, 23, appeared in a Thunder Bay Courtroom on Wednesday for a scheduled bail hearing. However, her attorney, Ryan Green, requested the hearing not take place today.
Raymer’s next court date is scheduled for Jan. 21 for a judicial pre-trial. She will remain in custody until that date at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre but her bail rights are persevered and she can request a bail hearing at anytime before her next court date.
Green also told the court that he is awaiting additional disclosure from the Crown.
Raymer was first charged on Nov. 2 with making child pornography, making child pornography available, sexual assault, and sexual interference.
The charges stem from an investigation in October by the Thunder Bay Police Service cyber crime unit after receiving information from National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.
Police executed a search warrant and seized several devices from a Frederica Street West home and Raymer was arrested without incident.
It is alleged that Raymer was uploading child pornography images to a social media website and the images found were of a 10-year-old female that was known to the accused.
None of the accusations have been tested in court.
