THUNDER BAY - A Thunder Bay woman will spend just under two years in custody after pleading guilty to child pornography and sexual interference charges.
Ashley Dawn Raymer, 24, was first charged last November with making child pornography, making child pornography available, possession of child pornography, sexual assault, and sexual interference.
On the counts of making child pornography and sexual interference, Raymer pleaded guilty in May and was sentenced to 30 months on each count to be served concurrently.
Raymer was credited for six months in custody, enhanced to nine-and-a-half months, leaving her with 20 months left to serve.
She is also required to submit a DNA order, had to forfeit her cell phone and laptop, has a 10-year weapons ban, is ordered to stay away from public spaces where individuals under the age of 16 may be for 10 years, and will be on the sexual offender registry.
The charges of distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography, and sexual assault were withdrawn.
The investigation into Raymer began last October after the Thunder Bay Police Service Cyber Crime Unit received information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre.
Police executed a search warrant of a Frederica Street home and several devices were seized.
According to police, the victim was 10-years-old and known to Raymer.
