Red Lake-area man charged with drug trafficking

RED LAKE, Ont. — A Balmertown man will appear in court in March to answer to several criminal charges including possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking.

Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant on Jan. 28 at a local residence.

They seized $7,000 worth of cocaine and a quantity of Canadian currency, and arrested a 24-year-old man.

In addition to trafficking, he's charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody on an undertaking to appear in court on Mar.12, 2020.
