Red Lake homicide victim identified

Police have identified the victim in Sunday's homicide.

RED LAKE, Ont. -- The victim of a Red Lake homicide has been identified as a 43-year-old man.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, the victim who was found Sunday night outside in the Norseman Heritage Park on Howey Street has been identified as 43-year-old John MacDougall of Red Lake.

The OPP North West Region Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit are continuing the investigation into the circumstances of his death.

The scene was released Thursday, but police are still asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Red Lake OPP, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
