RED LAKE, Ont. – A 57-year-old man is facing impaired charges after being pulled over by the marine unit in Red Lake.
According to a Ontario Provincial Police release, Red Lake OPP were conducting a marine patrol on Sunday at 4:40 p.m. on the waterbody of Red Lake.
Police initiated a stop of a vessel to ensure its compliance with the Small Vessel Regulations of the Canada Shipping Act.
Through the investigation it was determined the operator had been consuming alcohol beverages and as a result of the investigation a 57-year-old Red Lake man was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration.
The accused will appear in court on Aug. 27 to answer to his charges.
