Man charged with impaired driving over the long weekend

Man charged with impaired driving while provincial police conducted patrols on Pine Ridge Road.

RED LAKE, ON – Police charged a Red Lake man over the long weekend for impaired driving offences.

Ontario Provincial Police were conducting patrols Saturday afternoon along Pine Ridge Road, located north of Red Lake.

Police determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and administered an Approved Screening Device.

The driver failed the roadside device and was arrested and transported to the detachment for tests.

During the investigation officers located an insecure firearm within the driver’s campsite.

The 25-year-old from Red Lake was charged with impaired driving and careless storage of a firearm.

He is scheduled to appear in court June 15.
