Red Lake man nabbed for impaired driving

A Red Lake man was nabbed for impaired driving following an early morning traffic stop.

RED LAKE -- A Red Lake man is facing impaired driving charges following a weekend traffic stop.

According to Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police, officers initiated a traffic stop on Sunday around 1:25 a.m. on a man travelling on Highway 105 within the Municipality of Red Lake.

While speaking with the driver, it was determined that they had been consuming alcohol. 

Officers placed the man under arrest and he was taken to the detachment for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old of Red Lake was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

He was released by way of undertaking for Red Lake court on Jan. 20, 2022 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.
