(RED LAKE, ON) – On Saturday October 1, 2016 officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) conducted a Joint Forces Traffic initiative on Highway 105 and Little Canada Road in Ear Falls.

As a result of this initiative officers checked 319 vehicles. The initiative resulted in 3 charges under the Highway Traffic Act, 2 charges under the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Act and 11 Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections leading to 1 charge.

The OPP is committed to the safety and security of the traveling public and would like to remind motorists to not drive while distracted, utilize seatbelts and to continually monitor their driving habits, surroundings and speed.
