THUNDER BAY -- Over 2,000 people attended the 14th Annual Live from the Rock Folk Festival in Red Rock over the weekend.

It’s a grassroots festival best known as a weekend of great music, evenings around the campfire and comradery.

There were already hundreds of people jamming out to great folk music right when the gates opened Sunday.

Saturday's attendance saw over 2,000 people alone and organizers said folk music is the kind of music that anyone can get behind.

This workshop performance style is unique to folk music.

Multiple musicians graced the stage at the same time and each took turns playing songs according to the workshop theme.

The musicians often join in on each other’s songs to make music that is unique and original and often never heard again.

Many of the festival goes get to jam out with the musicians even after they walk off stage.

For many, the camping aspect of the festival is really where friendships are built and memories are made.
