THUNDER BAY – Reduced load restrictions took effect on most Thunder Bay streets on Wednesday, the city has announced.
The restrictions are meant to protect roadways during the spring thaw, when road damage is most likely to occur, by limiting heavy truck traffic.
A number of arterial and other roadways are exempt from the restrictions. More information is available at the city’s website, along with a map of exempted streets.
The restrictions will limit infrastructure projects like road and sewer work until they are lifted, typically in mid-May.
