THUNDER BAY -- An international film tour is showcasing some of the world's best paddling films.

Rapid Media's 11th annual Reel Paddling Film Festival is set to hit Thunder Bay's Paramount Theatre Tuesday night.

The festival focuses on inspiring nature fanatics to submerge themselves into the world's streams, lakes and oceans.

Wilderness Supply's store manager Mila Milic said organizers chose seven films that would best fit the Thunder Bay market.

"We want to get people excited about paddling," Milic said. "It's the beginning of the paddling season so it's nice for everyone to get inspired for all the trips they're planning."

Milic said there's a large paddling market within the city so there's a little bit of everything for the audience.

Viewers can expect to see a wide range of paddling videos including white-water kayaking, stand-up paddling and a canoeing expedition.

"There's a couple of conservation films if you're into it from an environmental aspect," Milic said.

"If you like an expedition aspect, there's also a film involving six men and their trials and tribulations of a paddling voyage."

The Reel Paddling Film Festival is a film contest awarding films in 10 categories, the winners along with other shortlisted films are toured to more than 100 cities around the world.

The Reel Paddling Film Festival takes place on Apr. 19 at 7 p.m. at Paramount Theatre.

Admission is $15 dollars plus tax.
