THUNDER BAY – A heat warning remains in effect for Thunder Bay through Monday.

According to Environment Canada, daytime maximum temperatures will hover between 30 C and 35 C, with humidex values reaching the high 30s or low 40s.

A cold front is expect to provide some relief to the heat, beginning on Tuesday, but until then, the government service advises the public to drink plenty of water and attempt to stay in a cool place. They also warn not to leave pets inside a parked vehicle.

Also, they say it’s important to watch for symptoms of a heat illness, which include dizziness or fainting, nausea or vomiting, rapid breathing and heartbeat, extreme thirst or decreased and unusually dark urine.
