LONDON, Ont. – Tiffany Reynolds poured in 24 points on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to help the Lakehead Thunderwolves find the win column for the first time this season.

Reynolds and the T-Wolves led 22-19 after the opening quarter on the road against the Western Mustangs, but were outscored 26-15 in the second and never recovered.

Lily Gruber-Schulz had 15 for the Thunderwolves, who lost their ninth straight to open the 2022-13, while Alexia Giroux put up 11.

Ariane Saumure matched Reynolds with 24 points for the Mustangs, grabbing 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double. Sarah Harvey had 16 and Brett Fischer had 14 to pass the home side’s attack.

Western, with the win, improved to 7-2 on the season.

Lakehead wraps up the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule on Saturday against Windsor.
