RIDE check leads to first charge under the new Cannabis Act in Dryden

DRYDEN, Ont. – A routine RIDE check in Dryden has resulted in a charge under the new Cannabis Act.

Dryden Police Service officials say after being stopped at a RIDE check Thursday, Nov. 22, police charged a 62-year-old man with having care and control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

The driver faces a provincial offence fine of $215.

Subsequent roadside testing indicated the driver was not impaired.
