THUNDER BAY -- A 20-year is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after being arrested for a convenience store robbery where he also allegedly threatened and assaulted the employee.
Liam Hardy was arrested by the Thunder Bay Police Services criminal investigations branch and community response team on Wednesday afternoon, hours after the robbery at the incident at a Mac's location on Red River Road.
Police had said the suspect, who was seen in surveillance footage wearing a Toronto Raptors jersey with his face uncovered, had used a weapon to demand money from the 23-year-old clerk. He then led the employee, who was injured in the altercation, outside the store.
The employee was able to flee to the Picton Street area and received first aid before being sent to the hospital. He has since been released.
