THUNDER BAY -- The founding executive-director of Thunder Bay's PARO Centre for Women's Enterprise has been named an International Woman of the Decade for Community Leadership.

Rosalind Lockyer will officially receive the honour on Saturday, April 28 at Women Economic Forum 2018 in New Delhi, India.

Women Economic Forum is an associate of ALL Ladies League (ALL), described as the world's largest all-inclusive international women's chamber. It is a non-religious and non-political organization committed to women's economic empowerment.

More than 2,000 people from 150 countries will attend the conference.

Lockyer has been recognized with numerous awards in the past.

She said the global recognition she's about to receive "is not just for me but for every woman who embodies the spirit of courage, confidence and enterprise to create positive change in her world. Women who in the face of adversity, challenge and insecurity, have the will to push forward and build prosperity. These women are the heart of our global socio-economic future."
