The Fort William Rotary Club officially launched the 24th Rotary House Lottery at a news conference Wednesday. . This year's house is on Hutton Park Drive in Sherwood Estates. Bob Hookham is the Chair of the House Lottery and he said he believes that the 1,700-square foot home is a beautiful prize.

The Fort William Rotary struggled to sell tickets again last year, but now that this is the only house lottery in Thunder Bay, organizers hope the lack of competition will help sell more tickets. But Rotary President Jill Zachary admits that selling all 7,000 tickets will won't be easy.

Since 1986, more than $3 million in house lottery profits has been donated to local and district charities and youth organizations.

One of this year's recipients will be the Rural Food Distribution Association. The first early bird draw of $5,000 will be held April 14.

The grand-prize ticket will be drawn on Canada Day.
