THUNDER BAY – A Bay Street bartender acted quickly on Tuesday night to thwart an attempted robbery.

Police, in a release issued on Wednesday, say a man armed with a knife entered the Royalton Bar and demanded cash.

The bartender activated the alarm for police and the male fled on foot before they arrived. No one was hurt in the incident.

He is described as a Caucasian male, about 35 years old, wearing a blue coat. Police ask anyone with information to contact TBPS or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
