Runaway pig leads police officers on a 45-minute pursuit

Little pigs were rescued and return to a hobby farm in the Rossport area.

SCHREIBER -- Police officers brought home the bacon last week following a call for assistance to round up some runaway piglets.

It is believed that these little pigs got out of their trailer at a truck turn around near Schreiber on Thursday, and Ontario Provincial Police came to the rescue.

Officers, on Friday, engaged in a 45-minute foot chase before the animals were tired out and snuggled up for a snooze in the back seat of the cruiser.

They were taken to a hobby farm in the Rossport area, where the owners later returned to where they were apprehended and found two more pigs.
