THUNDER BAY -- A spring storm that is threatening to dump up to 45 centimetres of snow on the city and surrounding areas by Wednesday has led the cancellation on Monday of rural bus routes and eight public board rural schools.

Student Transportation Services of Thunder Bay blamed inclement weather and road conditions as the cause.

Crestview, Five Mile, Gorham and Ware, McKenzie, Norwesterview, Kakabeka Falls, Valley Central and Whitefish Valley public schools will all be closed on Monday.

All wheelchair accessible vehicles are also cancelled for the day.

All other Lakehead District School Board schools, along with all Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, French Catholic and French public schools remain open and school bus routes within the city remain open for the day.

More information can be found at www.ststb.ca or by phoning the snow closure line at 807-625-1661.
